What is the Hackrea TrueSpace Exchange?

A private, community-driven photos database built to solve the biggest problem in interior design.

The Digital Swatch Illusion

Anyone who has ever painted a room knows the ultimate frustration: a digital color swatch on a screen never looks the same as the actual paint on a wall under real lighting conditions. Depending on the room's exposure and materials, a warm beige can easily turn into a muddy green.

Real Photos, Real Lighting

The Hackrea TrueSpace Exchange is a private repository of actual, unedited room photos. By bypassing digital approximations, we show you exactly how thousands of specific paint colors behave in North-facing daylight, under warm artificial bulbs, and paired with real-world materials.

How the "Give-to-Get" Economy Works

To protect this exclusive database from bots and scrapers, we operate on a fair, point-based system. You simply trade your own design experiences for access to our private archives.

What We Accept

Wide Room Context Show the paint interacting with furniture, flooring, and decor. Scale matters.
Natural & Authentic Lighting Photos taken in natural daylight or accurate artificial room lighting.
Real, Lived-in Spaces Authentic homes, offices, or commercial spaces. A little mess is better than a fake room.
Detailed Text Reviews If submitting text, include specifics about coats needed, undertones, and how the color shifts throughout the day.

Automatic Rejections

3D Renders & AI Generation Strictly forbidden. Digital swatches lie, and so do digital rooms.
Filters & Heavy Color Grading Do not alter the color temperature or apply Instagram-style filters to the photos.
Extreme Close-ups of Walls A photo of just a blank painted wall provides no context for how the color behaves.
Vague or AI-Written Text One-sentence comments ("Looks good!") or obviously ChatGPT-generated fluff will be rejected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the TrueSpace Exchange and our point-based economy.

We built a point-based system to lock proprietary real-world paint photos behind a gamified wall to protect our database and prevent scraping. To ensure the ecosystem remains valuable, we rely on a "Give-to-Get" model—you trade your own authentic design experiences to earn points, which you can then spend to unlock galleries.
You earn points through High-Value Actions and Low-Friction Actions:
  • Create an Account: Earn +10 Pts instantly (enough for 10 free preview unlocks on sign-up!).
  • Write a Text Review: Earn +15 Pts for sharing a structured review about your experience with a specific paint.
  • Upload a Real Photo: Earn +35 Pts (plus a Contributor Tier increase) for uploading a verified room photo. Additional points are awarded for diverse lighting conditions, multiple angles, and photo upload for a paint without contributions.
New users are placed in the Standard Tier and are capped at a maximum of 3 static gallery image unlocks per 24-hour period. To unlock full paint galleries (up to 10 per day), you must upgrade to the Contributor Tier by uploading at least one verified, real-world photo. Please note: Text-only reviews will earn you points, but they will never unlock the Contributor Tier.
When you spend 10 Points to unlock a full paint gallery, you are granted 30-day access to that specific paint's photo gallery. During that time, you can view all photos, filter by room type and lighting, and access any newly approved photos added to that paint's gallery.
Absolutely not. All photos are uploaded by real users and sit in a "Pending" state until manually verified by our team. We strictly enforce authenticity to ensure you are seeing real-world paint applications, not digital approximations or edited swatches.

Your space is safe with us.

We know that sharing photos of your home is a personal choice. The photos you upload are strictly secured within the TrueSpace Exchange and are only accessible to authenticated community members. We do not sell your personal images to third-party data brokers.
