Interior Design Trends In 2020

The designers analyzed the latest developments in the world of design and invited us to look to the future. These six trends will certainly be developed next year.

Green color

There was some seasons, the designers actively used pink shades, they have now been replaced by green. These are the favorite colors of mint, the soft pastel (for example, a shade of “sage”) and the deeper emerald.

For example, Pantone Color Institute has introduced a palette of the most popular shades for the autumn-winter period 2019-2020, among which the dark green Eden. It reminds of the forest and the freshness.

Now, designers are talking a lot about the need for live plants inside. Customers often want to bring some freshness to the frame, but they are not ready to take care of the plants. This is where the green color comes to the rescue – in the decoration or in the details.

Retro Style

Now you will not surprise anyone with it – the retroactive ones have remained at the pinnacle of popularity for many seasons. But it is in 2020 that they will grow.

The 70s, 80s and 90s are still the most popular. At the same time, designers take only the best and blend it with modern trends. Therefore, when decorating the house, you can safely bet on rattan, velveteen, furniture with metal accessories and a crystal glass decor. The essential thing is not to overdo it and use them dosed.

The trend for the 80s and 90s in design is dictated mainly by popular movies and TV shows. For example, the cult series “Very Strange Things”, which has been running since 1983, has made a great contribution.

Furniture With Soft Shapes

This year, smooth rounded furniture has become popular, and in the future, designers will experience it more in their projects. That said, this trend also came from the 80s and 90s.

For dimensional furniture with rounded shapes, a little more space is needed than for conventional angular models. It is better not to try to install such a sofa in a small living room. But with beanbags and chairs, everything is much simpler – do not be afraid to experiment!

Prints

Floral and animal prints, geometry and abstraction – all this will be developed in the new year 2020. To better understand the trends, periodically spy on the ideas of the world of fashion and clothing design – almost all trends are repeated in interior design.

The patchwork has gradually become outdated… to return in 2020. In any case, in the design of clothing, this impression is now very popular. For example, Michael Kors has released a collection of raincoats with the effect of a quilt. So, we will not be surprised if soon the patchwork will reappear inside.

Handmade

You will not be surprised by the production of machinery, but artisanal products are very popular. And designers try to use inside if not unique objects, then at least created in small lots.

The most popular materials will be natural and environmentally friendly – like wood and clay. When used, production minimizes the environmental impact.

Many brands have already contributed: for example, IKEA recently released an eco-friendly collection of hand-made items made from renewable materials.

Fringes

This year, designers have noticed a fun trend: the brushes and fringes are sewn onto ordinary decorative pillows. And if before this technique seemed outdated, now everything has changed.

The year 2020, the trend will take on a larger scale: inside, the details will become more discreet at first glance, which creates comfort and adds atmosphere. Bet on textures – you will not lose.

Did you know that the bangs were originally used to decorate the sloppy edge of the product?
